So much to see, do and buy...

I'm back. Fit as a fiddle. Thanks for all the well wishes! I really missed all of you so much. The Hump Day Garden Party was fantastic. It was fascinating to see everyone's interpretations of the theme. Emerald came as a plant; Elora and Merrick as a pair of fauns and Tymmerie and Jerremy as bees. Sadly I didn't get any pics. Every time I opened my snapshot tab, my computer slowed down and started to whine loudly. I got the hint so I didn't take any.

Its surprising to see what changes when you take a break. Coming back to my land, I was stunned to see all the changes made by my neighbors ranging from prefabs to landscaping. My parcel is still quite empty except for the freebie hobo van I got from OnRez. I saw it on Nuuna Nitely's flickr photostream, and had to possess it.

My skybox is all set up correctly. I bought it for 300L at Gritty Kitty. I have been trolling Mudhoney Designs recently. The furniture fits the look I'm going for with my skybox. There are a few more stores I want to look at before I make up my mind. And yes, I will put up pictures once I finish decorating it.

Once I get my skybox settled, I want to look at the land below, I really don't want to leave it empty. I think it would make a nice place for people to sit around and chat. I'm thinking of some outdoorsy furniture, a few logs, a fire, a deck, a few chairs and maybe a wave or two.

pass the kleenax...please

So where in the world is Asha Brim? I'm pretty sick and am deplurking and de-SL-ing.

I caught something around Monday. Something with sinus issues, sniffles, headaches and fatigue. After two days of missing school and laying in bed watching nearly all the episodes of Bones ( I'm on Season Three now! Yay!) I didn't want to miss any more classes, no matter how crappy I felt so I did and on top of regular homework, I still have to catch up on stuff that I missed.

On Wednesday, I thought I could get back on the grid and I did. I just conked off later because I didn't have the energy to do more than trying to set up skybox. Getting the box in the sky is the part that is frustrating.

I had all this stuff planned out for this week and I'm disappointed that I won't be able to get back on track. Like Alicia's blogger challenge and other stuff.

I'm going to laze around this weekend, work my midterms and work on my research project. I'm just really tired and want to get some rest. I hope I'll be better next week because I really do miss you guys!

Take care and have a great weekend, y'all!

I Haz Land!!!

For a long time, I had been thinking about buying land. I hesitated because in some cases I felt it would be too expensive. I wondered if I even needed land. Quaintly had advertised about land on Plurk and even bought a plot.

This morning I got in touch with the landlord and now, I'm proud to say that I'm the owner of a 1152 sq.m plot and have Quaintly for my next door neighbour.

I can foresee lots of craziness and fun with my crazy landlord and Quaintly as my neighbour. The following pics demonstrate the level of crazy fun experienced by all of us today morning.

That is all of us doing onigokko. Yes, that is my landlord attached to his chair.

Now we shifted to spinning chairs.

Spinning chairs, with particle Frankenteins, penguins, lizards and other symbols I don't recognize coming at us.

And if anyone wants to come and have look at the island and/or read the terms and conditions applied to it, I'll just leave the web page related to it here.

The post I planned two weeks ago...

Yes, I was planning to write this post a loooong time ago. Why did it fall in to the cracks for so long? Because I was lazy and decided to scurry around trying to finish writing assignments.

So what was the post about? My ever loving enthusiasm for Chai skins and the shopping spree that had followed after I tried all the interesting demos. I bought TEN skins for 5000L. My worst (or should I say best?) shopping spree.

Credit goes to Nuuna Nitely for putting all the pics together in one image. I knew her from plurk, and when I went into Chai that day, I met her and her partner, Marius P. :D

So Row 1 goes like, Whisper- Mistress, Ginger- Tart Lip 2, Ginger-Tart Lip 1 and Ginger- Spectra.

Row 2:- Ginger- Re-l, Ginger- Leopard, Ginger- Crushed and Ginger- Buki Lip 2.

Row 3:- Ginger- Buki Lip 1, Ginger- Black Cherry, Ginger- Ace and Ginger- Siyu

*collapses wondering how the hell those fashion types do it*

I think I learned my lesson, the second I have something to share, I'll type it immediately and not wait for two weeks.

Hump Day Party- Arr, Pirate!

I went to a Hump Day party tonight, which was my first one. Selected theme was Pirate, but I didn't dress up for it. I had a blast and want to thank Aisuru, Alicia, CeN and everyone who there. You'll definitely see me at the next one :D

I took loads of snapshots and posted them on flickr. Some of them haven't come out well but I wanted to share them anyway.

*yawns*

I'm beat now and my bed is calling me.

Nite y'all.

Productive Days

Ever had one of those days where nearly everything falls neatly into place? When you feel so relieved at completing tasks and projects, and relaxed then bored when you can't find anything to do.

*grins unashamedly*

Yes, I had one of those days, where I could tick mark things off my planner and squeal in joy when nearly everything is done.

From changing blog templates (with advice from Quaintly), decorating my room and finishing research assignments, this girl is done.

Well...nearly. I'm just stuck on a bio. Wish me luck!

On that note, I leave you a youtube clip of the song that has been played frequently by my iPod, The Best Is Yet to Come by Frank Sinatra.

Thou are not Legolas...

Feeling very tempted to spend my lindens, I splurged at the Harajukuboxcity fashion faire yesterday. In fact, I got my elven on, my elven priestess to be precise.

As I was busy twirling in this scanty warcraft-ish outfit, I had to resist my orc-hunting, heal thy fellow elf impulses.

So, orc hunting party, anyone?

Restless

Forgive this disjointed and short blog post.

So I haven't been blogging that frequently, and I blame restless nights, calc homework and campus organization interviews. I deplurked and debunked out of the grid for a loooooonnnnnngggg time.

*tries to look innocent*

So no rotten tomatoes, please?

But I'm back and hopefully better than ever.

*flexes imaginary biceps*

The Great Random Zaara TP Party (TGRZTP)

In a dark and shadowy room, a real flesh and blood human signed on to the virtual world. Transformed into pixels, she roamed around the grid shopping and IMing her friends. On a spur of the moment, she had dropped the coordinates to wonderful store called Zaara to her friend Emerald.

In Zaara's, was a beautiful dress in a tantalizingly shade of peacock blue that could be won and worn by anyone. It sat on top of a Lucky Chair, a mysterious and magical chair that could bestow the prize to avatars that were present in the store. Waiting for the Lucky Chair is a test in patience, intelligence and luck.

Emerald had her own test to undergo, as she was attacked by a wicked guitar griefer alt. When Asha arrived by teleporting, the mysterious alt had long disappeared. Emerald and Asha had chatted on and on when suddenly Alicia arrived, and the Zaara TP Party had thus commenced.

Both Emerald and Alicia had tp'ed their avatar friends, whose names fit the letter the Lucky Chair was in search of. It did not matter if they were male or female...

At least much fun was had by everyone who had joined them, and though Asha grew weary as the night in the real world grew longer. It was with sadness that she had parted from them.

At least when she woke up in the morning and saw the snapshots, it wouldn't be a dream...

Thank God for Plurk!

I am very shy in RL, and unfortunately I share it with my avatar. It takes me quite some time to make friends, and reach a state where I'm comfortable with chatting and goofing around with them.

Even though, I was rezzed in May, I just browsed blogs and roamed the grid demo shopping. I spent most of the summer in a contemplative state. What did I want out of my life? What part of me do I want to change? In RL, I was in a rut and depressed. The summer was godsend, I concentrated on ME. At the end of it, with all its ups and downs, I felt far more peaceful and focused.

And at the end of the summer, I signed on to Plurk. I had watched the Plurk widgets on blogs and blog posts on Plurk and had decided to jump on the bandwagon. I don't regret it. I have a plurk-ddiction, but I don't need an intervention.

Why not? Because I got to plurk and respond to people who are silly, witty, funny and serious. I can't explain it easily but just chatting with them before meeting their avies, made me far more comfortable to chat with them in their pixelated glory.

I'm very happy to have met some plurk buddies online and I hope to meet many more of them in-world soon.

*Peace*

Unicorn Crazy!!

Nuff said.

Say hello, Asha.

Trying to brainstorm for my first blog post so I was hesitant about posting. I wanted it to be something special, something profound. I didn't want to write about my intentions for this blog because I didn't have any yet. Nor did I want to splurge on a boring mini-autobiography.

So...

Hi! I'm Asha Brim. Nice to meet you. I don't know where I'll be heading but I welcome you to join me as I post about it.
